WWII Vet gets medals 66 years later

My mom, at age 89,http://www.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/17563/2568607?title=news&wpid=9046 was recently awarded some overdue medals from WWII. She's living in a nursing home in Saratoga Springs, NY and the reporters, camera crew and local Congressman all went to her :). She looks great and the ceremony was very well done. I would like to thank her friends Barbara  and Carl Thernau for this. Mr. Thernau is the one that pushed Congressmen around until he finally got Mom her medals. Thank you!!

I'm amazed at the response this had on my facebook and my siblings facebook pages. It makes me really happy to see the "Greatest Generation" truly getting the honor and respect they deserve. Mom is an amazing lady and my greatest role model. She proved to us everyday that a woman could do amazing things, that we ALL could do amazing things if we wanted to. I love you Mom.
